What About CO₂ Compensation?
By now, we know that the damage already done to nature cannot simply be undone by so-called “compensation” programs. In other words, true CO₂ compensation isn’t actually possible.
What is possible, and meaningful, is to reduce your emissions as much as possible while doing something positive in return for the planet. The goal should be to aim for a climate-positive lifestyle: doing more good than the impact you cause.
What Can You Do?
Rainforests play a crucial role in the fight against climate change and biodiversity loss. But right now, the rainforest needs our help too. By adopting square meters of rainforest, you help ensure long-term protection of this vital ecosystem. While there’s currently no perfect way to calculate your full environmental footprint, calculating your CO₂ emissions is a good starting point. We know how much CO₂, on average, our rainforest can hold per square meter. Based on your travel and driving habits, you can calculate how many square meters you’d need to adopt in order to balance your emissions with tangible, positive environmental impact.
This is not a carbon offset or part of a carbon credit system — it’s a simple, transparent way to take meaningful action.
What You Receive
You’ll receive a digital certificate showing how many square meters you’re helping to protect and a lot of information on our ongoing projects. And the impact goes far beyond CO₂ storage: you’ll also support biodiversity, clean drinking water for local communities, and the protection of countless species, including sloths, monkeys, birds, and more.
